2009 was a great year for Eclectic Randomness. One of my favourite parts of 2009 was the creation of those little rubber bears for each holiday. Each time I’d set them out, and in a matter of just a few hours, people would begin rushing in to grab them. The holiday bears were free, but they were only offered for a limited amount of time (about 2 weeks each). There were 11 holiday bears in 2009.. starting with Easter, and working through to the one I released yesterday for New Year’s Eve.
Well it’s cold outside, and I love a good cup of cocoa as much as anyone.. so I started thinking that I needed a new coco mug. And then it hit me.. wouldn’t it be cool to make a coffee cup based on those great little bears? What followed was a week’s worth of bear photography, image layout, and investigating the various printing sites on the web. The end result is a unique fusion of a virtual world brand, and a real world product. And something I hope to offer again as more bears are added to the collection.
The RL mugs are being sold through zazzle.com, which offers a fair amount of customization. Basic 11oz coffee mugs start at just $13.95, and the 15oz mugs go for $15.95. Other styles and colours are available as well, and the mugs are all dishwasher and microwave safe.
