Back to work.

back-to-work

Well the recovery from the endless summer is underway, and the good news is, I’m back to work! Here’s what’s gone on so far.

This last weekend:

  • Recovery of the ER Website/Blog following the hacking incident
  • Selection and configuration of a replacement wordpress theme
  • Reinstatement of the SLX and SLURL site functions

Monday:

  • Reactivation of a number of XStreetSL listings, including:
  1. ER Fetish Doll Hood
  2. ER Military Hangar
  3. ER Isolation Pod
  4. ER Latex Implants
  5. ER Action Jetpack
  6. ER Backyard BBQ Grill
  7. ER Latex SoundFX
  8. ER Change Machine

See the current collection of all our XStreet-listed items, here: http://slx.eclectic-randomness.com

Not a trivial process, by any means. While these items were all once previously listed on XStreetSL, the listings had to be completely reworked to bring them into compliance with Linden Lab’s recently announced new rules, following their acquisition of XStreetSL back in January 2009. In most cases, compliance modifications were minimal. Removing the so-called “hidden” or white-text keyword blocks, and trimming out any trademarks that were being referenced inappropriately.

Mostly, the process has been about updating the links within the listings, pointing to ER’s store, to reflect the fact that Eclectic Randomness now boasts 2 locations. This, combined with a pretty new listing template, and clearly it was time to redo the listings. Tonight’s work pushes ER past the halfway mark, in terms of active listings, vs inactive ones.

I am hopeful that our remaining dozen or so pre-existing XStreet listings can be brought back online tomorrow.. and then the real work will begin, of listing those few ER items that have never been listed on XStreetSL. When the project is completed, ER will have something like 40 items listed on XStreet, allowing customers quick and easy access to our entire catalog of items, both for individual purchase, and enabling use of XStreet as a comprehensive gift-buying option…. just in time for the holidays!
